The emphasis in the mathematics program is on reasoning, problem solving; communicating and understanding ideas, processes and result; and the use of appropriate technology - each of which are highly transferable thinking skills.

Mathematical work at DCHS is based around the recognition of the spatial and numerical order of God’s creation, and celebrates its unfolding to students.

Quotes
"Do not worry about your difficulties in mathematics, I assure you that mine are greater."
—Albert Einstein

"The laws of mathematics are not merely human inventions or creations. They simply 'are'; they exist quite independently of the human intellect. The most that any(one) ... can do is to find that they are there and to take cognizance of them. "
—M.C. Escher
